New Mexico’s Historic Textiles: Lecture Series and Exhibition

“New Mexico’s Historic Textiles: Lecture Series and Exhibition” highlights family stories and heirlooms from New Mexico at the time of statehood.

As New Mexico’s Centennial approaches these stories and textiles tell much about life in NM 100 years ago. The Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta, May 26-28th at the New Mexico State Fairgrounds will host an exhibition of Centennial Era Textiles.

A lecture and slide presentation by Colleen Konetzni and Donna Barnitz, Saturday,May 28th at at 12:30 am will discuss textiles discovered during their 2008 search for statehood era textiles.

This project is made possible by funding from the New Mexico Humanities Council, NEH, and the Albuquerque Fiber Arts Council.
