Lecture: Los Alamos, Robert Oppenheimer, and the Manhattan Project

The Los Alamos Historical Society is celebrating 100 years of Los Alamos and New Mexico history with a series of lectures looking back on the years 1912 to 2012.

The seminal event of Los Alamos history is, of course, the Manhattan Project, the top-secret project to develop the world’s first atomic weapons and to end World War II.

Join us as historian Dr. James Hopkins, chair of the history department at Southern Methodist University talks about the legacy of Los Alamos, Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer, and the Manhattan Project.
