Old Main Centennial Tour – 100 years of Prison History

Where? The New Mexico State Penitentiary "Old Main" prison

Old Main Centennial Tour – 100 years of Prison History

The New Mexico Corrections Department will be hosting tours once a month at the New Mexico State Penitentiary “Old Main” prison in Santa Fe, beginning February 2, 2012. The “Old Main” is known for the prison riot that occurred on February 2, 1980.

Due to the overwhelming response, all tours are full. Please call (505) 827-8645 to be added to the waiting list.

Tours are scheduled for:
February 2-10:00 am/2:00 pm–FULL
March 9-10:00 am/2:00 pm–FULL
April 13-10:00 am/2:00 pm–FULL
May 11-10:00 am/2:00 pm–FULL
June 8- 10:00 am/2:00 pm–FULL
July 13-10:00 am/2:00 pm–FULL
August 10-10:00 am/2:00 pm–FULL
September 14-10:00 am/2:00 pm–FULL
October 31-2:00 pm/5:00 pm–FULL
November 9-10:00 am/2:00 pm–FULL
December 14-10:00 am/2:00 pm–FULL

There is no heating or air conditioning at the “Old Main”, so please dress appropriately.

If you already have a tour reserved and can not make your reserved time/date, your name will be added to a waiting list.
